Born in the prairie town of Maple Hill, Kansas (population 375-ish), I was raised on the gospel and bluegrass tunes that permeate the churches and front-porch stoops of “the world's breadbasket.” One of my first memories is of being three and singing a spirited version of “Noah and the Arky-Arky” with my big sis…little did she know I was hooked! Not knowing that “life upon the wicked stage” was even an option, I secured a Women in Science Grant to pursue my (other) passions in forensic chemistry and psychology at the University of Chicago.

But the music never left me.

Recruited by one of UC's acclaimed a capella groups, we dropped an album which led to a solo record deal in Nashville. Shortly after the release of my debut, Can You Hear Me Now, I ventured west where I fused my loves of theatre and business to launch a performing arts studio, technical consulting firm, a historic home renovation business and The Dawn Brejcha Foundation, benefitting brain aneurysm research in honor of a dear friend.

In 2020, the Big Apple became home. You’re bound to find me here poring over a pour-over, The New York Times crossword, or classic-to-contemporary literature from Tolstoy to Tolkien. I’d also happily go toe-to-toe with you on Golden Girls quotes or deep-dive into any true crime documentaries… What can I say? Guilty pleasures!

In the meantime, you can learn more about my work by exploring the site. Enjoy!
